About Egypt Luxor Tours

An independent, reader-first guide to Luxor — what each trip really includes, what it costs on each platform, and when you're better off on your own.

What we do

Luxor is one of the most rewarding places on earth to visit and one of the most confusing to book. The same full-day tour can appear under a dozen titles, with tickets in or out, lunch in or out, and pickup from Luxor, Hurghada or a cruise boat. We line those listings up, check what is actually included, and write it down in plain language.

We cover the two banks of Luxor, the temple tickets, sunrise balloon flights, Nile cruises between Luxor and Aswan, day trips to Dendera, Abydos, Edfu and Abu Simbel, and the long trips to Luxor from the Red Sea resorts and Cairo.

How the site is funded

We earn a commission when you book through our links to GetYourGuide, Headout or Tiqets. You pay the same price as booking directly on those sites. The commission doesn't change our rankings: we sort trips by verified reviews, route and value, and we say so when a cheaper or simpler do-it-yourself option exists. The details are on How we compare.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell tours ourselves and we don't take bookings or payments.
  • We don't accept payment from operators for placement or reviews.
  • We don't publish ratings we haven't taken from the platforms' own feeds, and we date every price.
