Who are Bastet Travel?
Bastet Travel sells private tours across Egypt from an address in Al-Haram, Giza. Its website, in seven languages, is mostly multi-day packages — Cairo with a Nile cruise, Luxor and Aswan by flight, Christmas and Easter itineraries — plus a long list of Nile cruise ships by departure day. Luxor gets its own section of 55 tours, from single-day visits to three-day packages.
The About page describes the company in general terms — tailor-made trips, 24/7 support, a guest rating it calculates itself — but gives no founding year, registered company name or license number. We also found no company under the Bastet name in the Egyptian Travel Agents Association index. That may simply mean it trades under a differently named license; it does mean we couldn't check it.
What Bastet Travel sells in Luxor and what it costs
| Tour | Format | Price (per person) | Tickets included? | Pickup | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| All-inclusive day, both banks | Private | from $230 | Yes, plus buffet lunch | 7:00 from hotel, cruise or airport | Travelers who want one price |
| Karnak and East Bank | Private | from $81 | Check the tour page | Flexible start | An afternoon |
| Sound and Light at Karnak, with Luxor highlights | Private | from $100 | Check the tour page | Evening | First night in town |
| Luxor to Abu Simbel by train | Private | from $400 | Check the tour page | Private transfers | Abu Simbel without the long drive |
| 3-day Luxor package | Private | from $383 | Check the package | Check the package | A long weekend |
The $230 day is genuinely complete: tickets to the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Hatshepsut's temple, Karnak, Luxor Temple and the Colossi of Memnon, a buffet lunch, water, a licensed Egyptologist and a private air-conditioned car. Two exclusions are worth knowing: a $10 per car supplement for airport pickup, and a note that from 18 December to 10 January the tour runs as a shared small group.
For comparison, a private day on GetYourGuide starts at about $80–105 a person. Even after adding entry tickets yourself — see our tickets guide — that usually costs less than $230.
Platform alternatives to Bastet's Luxor day
US-dollar prices come from each platform's own feed and were checked on October 21, 2026. Dates and group size change them — the booking page has the final price.
How booking, payment and cancellation work
- Booking: an enquiry form or WhatsApp; the company confirms details by message or email.
- Deposit: the FAQ says about 30% for packages, or 50% if you book within 30 days of arrival.
- Cancellation: the FAQ says most Luxor day tours are fully refundable if canceled at least 24 hours ahead, but it is written as general advice rather than as the company's own terms. Ask for the cancellation rule in writing with your quote.
- Payment: the FAQ mentions cards, PayPal and bank transfer, again in general terms.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Truly all-inclusive Luxor day: tickets, lunch, Egyptologist and private car
- Wide range of packages, cruises and multi-day itineraries
- Early 7:00 pickup that beats the West Bank heat and crowds
- Pickup from hotels, cruise boats or the airport
Cons
- No license number or registered company name published; not found in the ETAA index
- $230 a person is more than double a platform private tour before tickets
- "Private" tour becomes shared over Christmas and New Year
- FAQ terms are generic rather than the company's own policy
Verdict
Our score: 3.5 / 5. Bastet Travel's Luxor day is thorough and clearly described — tickets, lunch and a private car with an early start — and that's worth something to travelers who want no admin. But the price is high for Luxor, the company publishes no license details we could check, and its booking terms read as general advice. If you like its itineraries, ask for the license number and written terms first; otherwise, a platform private tour covers the same ground for less.

Questions travellers ask
How much does Bastet Travel charge for a Luxor day tour?
Its all-inclusive private day of the West and East Banks is listed from $230 a person, with entry to the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Hatshepsut, Karnak, Luxor Temple and the Colossi, a buffet lunch, an Egyptologist and a private car. A private Karnak and East Bank tour starts at $81 and a Sound and Light evening at $100.
Is Bastet Travel a licensed company?
We couldn't verify it. Its website gives a Giza address but no Ministry of Tourism license number, and we found no company under the Bastet name in the Egyptian Travel Agents Association index. Brands often trade under another registered name, so ask for the license number and the registered company name before paying a deposit.
What deposit does Bastet Travel ask for?
Its FAQ says a 30% deposit typically confirms a tour package, rising to 50% for bookings made less than 30 days before arrival. Its day-tour pages take an enquiry first, then confirm by WhatsApp or email.
Is Bastet Travel based in Luxor?
No. The address on its website is in Al-Haram, Giza, and it sells trips all over Egypt. It does have a Tripadvisor listing filed under Luxor, and most of its Luxor products are private day tours and short packages with domestic flights or a Nile cruise.
Does Bastet Travel's private tour stay private all year?
Not quite. The excluded-items list on its all-inclusive Luxor day says that between 18 December and 10 January the tour runs as a shared small group. There is also a $10 per car supplement for an airport pickup.
