Emo Tours Egypt in Luxor — licensed, private, mostly booked online
Emo Tours Egypt is a Giza-registered Category A agency that sells private Luxor days on GetYourGuide from about $105. The license checks out; its own website's prices often don't load, so the platform is the clearer way to book.

Who are Emo Tours Egypt?
Emo Tours Egypt is a private-tour agency registered in Giza that sells day tours, transfers, hotels and multi-day trips across Egypt, Luxor included. Most travelers meet it through GetYourGuide, where it supplies a private full-day Luxor highlights tour with hotel pickup — about $105 a person, eight hours, rated 4.6 from 416 reviews.
Its website calls it a "licensed" agency, and that claim holds up. The Egyptian Travel Agents Association's public index lists Emo Egypt for Tourism as a Category A company — the class allowed to organize trips and run transport — under license 2375, registered on 29 September 2009 in Al-Haram, Giza. The entry carries the emotoursegypt.com address and a phone number that also appears on emotours.com.
One small inconsistency: the company's own About page gives 2009 as the founding year in one paragraph and "since 2010" in a quote further down. The official registration date supports 2009.
What Emo Tours sells in Luxor and what it costs
| Option | Where | Price | Duration | Tickets included? | Pickup |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private full day, both banks | GetYourGuide | from about $105 per person | 8 h | Check the listing's "includes" line | Luxor hotels |
| East Bank day with transfers | emotours.com | from $85 | not stated | Not stated | Yes |
| Private half day to Dendera | emotours.com | from $185 | half day | Not stated | Yes |
| Abu Simbel from Luxor | emotours.com | from $230 | long day | Not stated | Yes |
| Luxor–Hurghada private car | emotours.com | $99 sedan, $135 minibus | — | — | Door to door |
Several Luxor products on Emo's own site — the East and West Bank day tour and the balloon flight among them — showed a price of "$0,00" when we checked. That looks like a website fault rather than a policy, but it means the site isn't a reliable place to compare prices. Ask for a written quote that lists entry tickets, Tutankhamun's tomb and lunch separately.
Emo's Luxor tour and the private alternatives
US-dollar prices come from each platform's own feed and were checked on October 21, 2026. Dates and group size change them — the booking page has the final price.
How booking, payment and cancellation work
- On GetYourGuide: you pay the platform; cancellation follows the terms printed on the listing.
- Direct: Emo's FAQ lists credit cards, PayPal, bank transfer and cash in Egypt, with payment links for online bookings. Its legal page says a deposit confirms the booking and the balance is due before the tour starts.
- Cancellation (direct): the FAQ says most day tours are fully refundable up to 24 hours before; multi-day and custom trips have their own terms. The legal page adds that refunds may carry administrative fees and that no-shows and unused parts of a package are not refunded.
The company's FAQ also warns about former employees running unlicensed copycat websites and urges travelers to check any agency in the ETAA index. That's sound advice — and Emo passes its own test.
Pros and cons
Pros
- License verified: Category A, number 2375, in the official ETAA index
- Private format by default, with hotel pickup
- Bookable on GetYourGuide with a fixed price and the platform's protection
- Covers the whole country, so a Luxor day can join a longer trip
Cons
- Registered in Giza, not Luxor — local operations aren't visible from outside
- Its own site shows placeholder $0 prices on several Luxor tours
- Direct-booking refunds may carry administrative fees
- At about $105, its private day costs more than some Luxor-based rivals
Verdict
Our score: 4.0 / 5. Emo Tours Egypt is a real, licensed company whose registration matches its website — more than many agencies selling Luxor online can show. Its private full day on GetYourGuide is well reviewed and comes with the platform's fixed price and written terms, which is how we'd book it. We take points off for the unreliable prices on its own site, for being run from Giza rather than Luxor, and for a price that sits above comparable Luxor-based private tours.

Questions travellers ask
Is Emo Tours Egypt a licensed company?
Yes, as far as the official record goes. The Egyptian Travel Agents Association index lists Emo Egypt for Tourism as a Category A company, license number 2375, registered on 29 September 2009 in Al-Haram, Giza. The entry gives the emotoursegypt.com web address and one of the phone numbers shown on emotours.com, so the brand and the license match.
How much does Emo Tours charge for a Luxor day tour?
On GetYourGuide its private full-day tour of both banks starts at about $105 a person, eight hours, with hotel pickup. On its own site several Luxor tours show a placeholder price of $0, while others list figures such as an East Bank day from $85 and a private Dendera half day from $185. Ask for a written quote before paying a deposit.
What is Emo Tours' cancellation policy?
Its FAQ says most day tours can be canceled for a full refund up to 24 hours before, with different terms for multi-day and custom trips. Its legal page adds that deposits confirm a booking, refunds may carry administrative fees, and no-shows get nothing back. On GetYourGuide, the listing's own cancellation line applies instead.
Is Emo Tours based in Luxor?
No. The company is registered in Giza and runs tours across Egypt, including Luxor, Aswan, Cairo and the Red Sea. It says it uses its own vehicles and in-house guides; we could not independently verify the size of its fleet or team in Luxor.
Should I book Emo Tours on GetYourGuide or directly?
For a single Luxor day, GetYourGuide is simpler — a fixed price, the inclusions on one page, and the platform handling payment and refunds. Direct booking makes more sense for a multi-day trip you want to tailor, where Emo's FAQ says it takes cards, PayPal, bank transfer or cash in Egypt.
